Frequently Asked Questions
The Nashik Ring Road, also known as Nashik Parikrama Marg, is a planned outer road corridor around Nashik, Maharashtra. It is being developed by the Maharashtra State Infrastructure Development Corporation (MSIDC) to divert through traffic away from the city, improve regional connectivity and support traffic management during the 2027 Simhastha Kumbh Mela.
The approved Nashik Ring Road alignment is approximately 66.15 km long. Detailed MSIDC tender documents divide the corridor into seven construction packages whose individual lengths together total about 66.20 km because of package-level chainage and measurement differences.
The Nashik Ring Road route forms an outer corridor around Nashik, connecting areas including the DRDO Junction, Dindori Road, Gavalwadi, Gangapur Road, Govardhan, Trimbak Road, Belgaon Dhaga, the Nashik-Mumbai Highway and Vilholi before reconnecting toward Adgaon.
The approved Nashik Ring Road alignment is approximately 66.15 km and follows the preferred alignment selected through the feasibility and DPR process. The corridor broadly runs from the DRDO Junction and Adgaon side through the northern, western, southern and eastern outskirts of Nashik before returning toward the Adgaon area.
The Nashik Ring Road map shows the approximately 66-km outer corridor around Nashik. The alignment connects major radial roads including Dindori Road, Gangapur Road, Trimbak Road, the Nashik-Mumbai Highway and the Vilholi-Nashik Road corridor, allowing through traffic to bypass the central city.
The Nashik Ring Road is in the implementation and construction stage. MSIDC has obtained administrative approval for construction, multiple construction packages have been tendered, and Package 6 has been awarded. Land acquisition is also continuing across several villages along the approved alignment.
Recent developments include continued land acquisition, final land-acquisition awards in several Nashik villages and progress on construction packages. Package 6, covering 14.02 km on the southern side, was awarded to SRM Contractors for ₹483 crore in 2026. MSIDC is also pursuing land monetisation and roadside-amenity opportunities along the corridor.
The Maharashtra government has approved ₹3,154 crore for construction of the Nashik Ring Road and ₹3,659.47 crore for land acquisition. Together, these two currently documented approvals amount to approximately ₹6,813.47 crore. The land-acquisition amount should not be presented as the total construction cost.
The Nashik Ring Road is being implemented by the Maharashtra State Infrastructure Development Corporation (MSIDC). Construction is divided into seven EPC packages, with individual contractors being appointed for different sections of the corridor.
The Nashik Ring Road is divided into seven construction packages. The packages cover the eastern, northeastern, northwestern, southeastern, southern and southwestern sections of the approximately 66.15-km corridor.
Yes. The project has moved beyond the proposal and land-planning stage into construction implementation. MSIDC has issued tenders for all seven sections, and Package 6 has been awarded for construction. However, land acquisition and package-level execution are still progressing, so the entire 66-km corridor is not yet complete.
The Maharashtra government's construction administrative approval specifies a target of completion by the end of March 2027. The deadline is linked to preparations for the 2027 Simhastha Kumbh Mela, although actual completion will depend on land acquisition, contractor mobilisation and construction progress across all seven packages.
